Privacy, in plain language.

What Manas collects

• Phone number and account identifier. Used to send a one-time sign-in code, maintain your session, and keep your data separated from other users.
• Your todo data. Todo text, dates, groups, completion state, ordering, and any Manas verdict attached to a todo are stored when sync is enabled.
• Optional anonymous usage events. If you turn on Share anonymous usage, Manas sends a random installation identifier plus coarse events such as app opened, todo created or completed, group created, quick capture opened, and check-in succeeded or failed. Events can include the platform, app version, whether a todo has a group, whether its day is past, today, or future, and aggregate source or todo counts.
• Messages you send to support. If you contact us, we receive the email address and information you include in that message.

How the data is used

Account information is used for authentication and security. Todo data is used only to provide Manas features, including cross-device sync and the widget. Optional anonymous usage events are used only to understand feature adoption and improve reliability. They are not joined to your Manas account. Support messages are used to answer your request and diagnose the issue you report.

What stays on your device

On Mac, activity sources such as local coding sessions, browser history, Screen Time, and Messages are read locally to produce the summaries you see. Manas does not upload the raw source databases or raw activity logs to the sync service. Local app state remains on the device unless you remove it. Optional analytics never includes todo text, group names, verdict evidence, message contents, browsing history, phone numbers, email addresses, keystrokes, or screen recordings.

Service providers

Manas uses Stytch to deliver and verify phone sign-in codes and Supabase to authenticate sessions and store synced todos. If you opt in to anonymous usage sharing, Manas uses PostHog to process the limited product events described above. Manas tells PostHog not to create a person profile or enrich events with location. These providers process data only to deliver those services. Manas does not use advertising SDKs, sell personal data, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.

Retention and deletion

Synced account and todo data is kept until you delete your account. In the iPhone app, open the More menu and choose Delete account. After confirmation, Manas deletes your synced todos and authentication record, then clears the local account data on that iPhone. Turning off Share anonymous usage stops collection immediately and deletes the local analytics identifier; enabling it again creates a new identifier. You can email support to request help with access or deletion of synced or analytics data.

Security and children

Manas uses encrypted HTTPS connections, secure session storage, and per-account access controls. No internet service can promise absolute security. Manas is a general productivity app and is not directed to children under 13.
